After The Tower

After the Tower, comes the Star.

This was my mantra as I watched the father of my kids and the man I loved for 23 years dying in the ICU. He left us exactly a month ago on March 25, 2025. As I pick my little family up and out of the ashes of this life altering event, I have spent a lot of time in the quiet contemplation that happens when things fall apart.

I have been a student of the Tarot for 15 years. The 22 cards in the major arcana are a roadmap of the Hero’s Journey, and can help us navigate through the challenges of this beautiful, messy life. The Tower card signifies sudden and unexpected change, The kind that rocks us to our core and challenges our strength and stamina to get back up. This card shows up in the times of our lives when everything will change, regardless of our hopes and desires, and we have no choice but to move through to the other side. Pain, fear and devastation come with this card.

BUT...

After the Tower, comes the Star.

The Star signifies hope and renewal, as well as faith that the story is not over. With the Star weare asked to believe that even though things did not turn out how we hoped they would, our destiny has a plan that, even if we cannot see, remains. The Star asks us to breathe, to nourish, to slowly get back up. And most of all the Star tells us that from the ashes of the Tower, we will rebuild even stronger than before.

And while Cole’s death is the dance of the Tower and the Star in my life, these energies are at play in the wider world right now as well.

We are living through so many unpredictable, unprecedented events that at times it can feel like we are living with the Tower every day. The pain, fear and devastation in this moment can be isolating and exhausting.

And so I am creating The Denver Hive. My wish for our space is to create a community where we can collectively seek the energy of the Star card. Whether it’s through treatments for our bodies, rituals for our souls, healing for our hearts or empowerment for our minds, I hope to create a space that makes us all feel safe and cared for, so that we may be nourished and strong enough to be the change we want to see in the world.

I envision The Hive as a place we gather to celebrate the wins, and heal and process the losses. The only thing we can truly control on our personal and collective Hero’s Journey is how we react to the challenges and victories we face. And no one can do it alone.

So from my heart to yours, please join us. Welcome.

Xoxo,
